About Me

Dave Maric is a composer of acoustic and electronic music.
Maric read music at City University, London, where he focused primarily on performance and music technology. His noted abilities as a pianist led to a diverse range of performance opportunities with ensembles such as the Steve Martland Band, London Philharmonic Orchestra and London Sinfonietta as well as numerous jazz and rock bands.
His first commissioned work was "Trilogy" for the percussion soloist Colin Currie in 2000; the success of which led to two album recordings featuring Maric's music ("Unspoken" and "Borrowed Time") and many new works for musicians such as Fred Frith, Håkan Hardenberger, Katia Labèque, and Viktoria Mullova.
Maric has had a long interest in classical and contemporary dance. "Broken Fiction" (Royal Opera House 2002) became the first of many new works from the long standing collaborative relationship between Maric and British choreographer Cathy Marston and from which also emerged the full evening works "Ghosts" (Royal Opera House 2005), "A Tale of Two Cities" (Northern Ballet Theatre 2008) and "Wuthering Heights" (Bern Ballet 2009).
