Dear Friends and Fellow Paranormal Enthusiasts, I'd like to take a moment of your time to introduce myself...
My name is Stacey Allen McGee and I am the International Director and Founder of
The ARC ~ Alternate Realties Center, formerly known as the United States UFO Information and Research Center, founded in February of 1994. My background and experience prior to professional paranormal research was in the travel and tourism industry and I am the Tour Operator and Director of Appalachian GhostWalks and Ghost Tours created in 2003, which is on its way to becoming one of the top tourism attractions in the Southeastern United States...
The Alternate Realities Center, or The ARC for short, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to spiritual and scientific research and investigation of the paranormal. We are based in Northeast Tennessee and effectively cover, but are not limited to an area in the Southeastern United States from Knoxville, Tennessee to Marion, Virginia. The ARC has been featured on numerous television documentaries including the popular Turner Broadcasting series entitled "Liars and Legends", as well as radio programs, newspapers, and magazine articles since the organization's inception...
Representatives of The ARC have been conducting paranormal study of phenomena in various parts of the world, but focusing on an area of the Southern Appalachian Mountain Region of the United States to include all of upper East Tennessee as well as the Highlands of the Southwest Virginia for nearly two decades. Our website is www.AlternateRealitiesCenter.com boasting one of, if not the largest UFO and Paranormal Photo Galleries on the Internet receiving more than twelve million hits on our website during the year of 2008...
On a personal note, although I have been involved with professional paranormal investigation of ghosts and authenticly haunted places for a number of years now, my work actually began with serious scientific study of documented sightings of and close encounters with Unidentified Flying Objects - UFOs, and alledged abductions of human beings by the occupants of these unknown aircraft operating over and within official United States airspace and other areas worldwide. After several years of very revealing research into this enigma, it became evident that there might be subtle connections to other Parapsychological venues of research and we became one of the very first organizations to incorporate all areas of paranormal interest into the scope of what we represent - including Bigfoot, or Cypotozoology. It was at this point that we realized the organization needed a new name and the United States UFO Information and Research Center then became The ARC - Alternate Realities Center...
As the work with Ghosts continued, using six different scientific technics to study this area of interest, my knowledge of history, including personal Geneology revealing deep historical roots in my native region of Southern Appalachia, grew substantially as did my "psychic" ability. This was an unexpected "side-effect" of the process as I did not set out to be a "medium" or a "sensitive", or even a historian for that matter, but in the past several years, I have become both. Having grown up in a Christian background with personal principals to guide my spiritual endeavors based on the teachings of Christ I now, and very light-heartedly I might add, call myself the reluctant "psychic"...
In addition, my skills in a technique known in the modern era as "dowsing" have grown along with verified accuracy as compared with historical details and known facts presented by property and business owners, historical documents, and county records. Dowsing is one of the proven and effective techniques taught in what has become the number one most recognized college level Ghost Hunter Ceritication Class on the Google Search Engine and is entitled "Ghostology 101". The two day weekend seminar is taught throughout the year and is now recognized Internationally as one of the best programs for excellence in paranormal study throughout North America...
After we began offering our tours to the public to showcase the results of both spiritual and scientific study of the most historic and truly haunted locations of our region, popularity in our very unique approach and contribution to Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia Tourism took off quickly. In September of 2005, Appalachian GhostWalks and Ghost Tours was recognized as one of the top ten ghost tour companies in America by popular votes in poll taken by Haunted America in New Orleans, Louisiana. One year later we moved up in position on the list to the top five, and in September of 2006, I was given the great honor of being recognized by Haunted America as being one of the top ten Ghost Hunters and Paranormal Investigators in the country. In 2008, I moved into the top five paranormal investigators in the country according to this same poll...
