The Comfort

About Me

"No fashionable haircuts. No dress sense. Just good honest songwriting. We go along with that!" - Tom Robinson plays 'Until', BBC 6 Music.
"Absolutely beautiful!" - Gareth Lloyd sums up 'Let It In', BBC Three Counties Radio.
"The Comfort was selected as one of the best live performances of 2008 by PDM Music and because of that was included on our Best of 2008 cd released on LoiTone Recordings in January 2009 - Paul Curry, PDM Music www.pdmmusic.com"
In little more than a year The Comfort have gone from the back room of a bar in Londons Camden Town, to the stage of the 'Live Festival of Beer' in Aquaviva, Italy. Along the way they've appeared on BBC Introducing - playing a session for Three Counties Radio, featured on Tom Robinson's BBC 6 Music show, and invited to perform at Jar Music Groups unsigned showcase at Islington's Carling Academy.
The band came together through a series of chance encounters, small ads and mutual friends. The cosmopolitan line-up includes a drummer from Argentina, a guitarist from New Zealand, a singer from England and a bass player born in Bahrain. 'I think we all have fairly similar tastes in music and definitely a passion for playing... and a unanimous belief in the sound of the band' says guitarist Lol Watts. 'We're all about the songs & great songwriting' adds singer Irvin Electro, the only member of the band born in the UK. 'I don't think that it's a coincidence that four people from such different parts of the world happened to be in the same place at the same time!'
On the 25th April 2008 The Comfort were the featured artist on BBC Introducing, playing two songs live in the studio and also in conversation with host Gareth Lloyd. You can listen to the tracks and the interview at www.bbc.co.uk/threecounties/introducing.
