BackgroundI grew up in Wichita KS, graduated and went to Fort Hays State University FHSU for 5 years where I somehow got a piece of paper showing a B.S. in Physics. During this time I was also introduced to church and Christ. After graduation I was very burned out academically and hadn't put in any post-college applications. I wound up working at the machine shop where my dad worked for a year. During this time I also wasn't able to find a new church and eventually quit going.
I then moved down to Galveston Tx. Where I started looking for a new job and a new church. Unfortunately, I had very little luck with each. After six months I got a job at the local hospital, UTMB, just to loose it five months later. After a few rough months I found another job at UTMB in the transportation department just to trying and pay the bills. Unfortunately, I was in transportaion for far to long, it did take care of me. In Feb 2007 I got a job at a surveying company based in Galveston. So far I am truly enjoying the work, and I like the fact that I can see great room for improvement, SIT, RLS, LSLS (someday).In my "spare time" (every other saturday for half a year) I have been volunteering at the Galveston Historical Foundation's flagship, the Elissa. She is a beautiful 1877 barque (triple mast square sailing ship). I have had a lot of fun learning how to maintain her so I can go out sailing on her. Yes a floating, sailing museum. In 2006 I went out for several day sails and the over night, loads of fun. Unfortunately, this year I dropped out with only 6 weeks left because I hit one of those massive stress-outs with before I actually changed jobs. I have also gotten interested in metal casting, and I am trying to figure out how to do that in the back yard, so far I haven't burned myself on anything... Yet.
