About Me

Carolina & Felipe have formed a partnership since 2002 and have since been performing, competing and teaching throughout the world. Felipe started Ballroom Dancing in 1998 and in 1999 won the Blackpool Latin Formation team title and was featured at the Rose Bowl half-time show. He moved to New Jersey and turned professional in 2001 immediately becoming a grand finalist in the American Rhythm division of dances Cha-Cha, Rumba, Swing, Bolero, and Mambo. Carolina a native to Toronto, Canada moved to New York in 1997 to pursue a career as a professional dancer where she studied at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, was an apprentice with the original Broadway cast of, "Forever Tango." She was also a "Richard Elenor" Scholarship recipient at Broadway Dance Center and a Company member with the New Dance Group Ensemble. In 2001 she took a teaching position at Fred Astaire Dance Studio where she met Felipe. Shortly after forming a partnership they attained National recognition in the competitive Ballroom circuit by by entering their division Grand Finals. Together they have created a unique approach to Dancesport combining his authentic rhythms with her classical background. As a consequence, they are sought after ambassadors of the American Rhythm Dance Discipline and are invited guest,lecturers, instructors, and choreographers for Dance artists, productions, studios and intensive dance camps across North America. They have recently worked on Celine Dion's New World tour, an American Express industrial film, Queen Mary ll Liner, the Kimmel Center with "Peter Nero and The Philly Pop Orchestra'" and have been principle dancers in the production of "Rhythm of Love" at the Palace Theatre in Stamford, Conn. Their spectacular shows have been performed for various charitable organizations including "The Wild Life Foundation," "Dancers for Life" at New York City Center,"Encyclopedia Iranicca" at Columbia University. Carolina and Felipe are World Mambo and World Salsa Champions, 6-time American Rhythm Grand Finalists, current U.S. silver Medalists, National Theatrical Arts Grand Finalists, and can currently be seen performing on "America's Ballroom Challenge," featured on PBS.
