In the eighties my Mom was spitting out babies like crazy. That's where me and my brothers come from.
We came up in this world as a tightly knit band of troublemakers whose Mom was pretty busy paying the bills. Our pastimes included: beating the crap out of each other and watching Wayne's World.
As the oldest it fell on my shoulders to be the most brazen in my lawlessness. And I did so. Reluctantly at first, then with a bit more pizazz.
As a young man I was kidnapped by a traveling theatre company that shattered the mould by staying in one spot at all times. It was revolutionary. Not in the "violent upheaval of a political system" way, more in the "that's a marginally different way of looking at things" way.
Since then I've gone on to do some pretty fun stuff.
My favs include:
- Touring to comedy festivals in Australia
- Writing for Canadian magazines
- Touring the US with the show: Hip Hop 101
- Making movies with some comedy heroes of mine
- Touring Canada with my show Scratch
- Making with the raps (with The Blender and solo)
The best thing though, is that now I work at the company that once abducted me! I'm the Associate Artistic Director of Rapid Fire Theatre. Which is satisfying. In a circle of life kind of way.
One other thing that most people don't know about me is that I had a famous grandpa.
