About Me

I am a freelance writer serving the knife industry and commercial grounds care equipment industry. Currently, I serve as one of BLADE Magazine's Field Editors, specializing in factory and custom knife industry trends including but not limited to new locking mechanisms, blade steels, and designs. I also do factory and custom knifemaker profile articles. I have a special interest in tactical and outdoor fixed and folding knives. It is a lot of work to keep my finger on the pulse of the knife industry but it is very rewarding, knowledge wise. Seeing how this industry has constantly evolved over the past 10 years has been an exciting experience in and of itself. From my vantage point, there is no better time like the present to be a knife enthusiast.
With Turf Magazine, I examine the many different trends in the commercial ground care equipment industry. More or less, I guess you can say I play with lawnmowers! This industry, like any others, has experienced a high degree of innovations through the years, and the spirit of innovation is still very much alive right now. My job is not to pick the best equipment through my writing, but rather spotlight the different trends and provide the reader information beyond catalog copy so he or she can make the best decision for their lawn care business. When you are in the commercial grounds care industry, you rely heavily on your equipment to make money for you. The very last thing anyone in this industry wants to do is to purchase a machine that is unreliable, cumbersome to use, and breaks down often. A machine in the shop instead of on your trailer isn't making you money. In this business, time is also money and the faster that one can get the job done without sacrificing precision and quality, the more yards one is able to accomplish in one day, which adds up in how many yards one accomplishes in a week's time. With as many choices of equipment that is available to today's commercial landscapers, it is almost confusing to pick which one is the best for your specific applications. Through my articles I hope to assist in cutting through the confusion and in the end, when the reader is finished with my article they are able to at least, make an informed decision if not - be on the right path to making the right decision.Profile Edited by ProfileFox MySpace Editor
