The Crist Family

Crist Family Ministries began in 1987 as a part-time music ministry that traveled regionally throughout the Northwest. Over the years, The Crist Family has grown and currently consists of Tami Crist Starkel and her husband John, her brother Rich Crist Jr. and his wife Lisa along with their two daughters Breana and Jackie, and long time friends Tom and Gail Joyce.In 2004 God called The Crist Family into full-time ministry. They sold their homes, quit their secular jobs, and left their extended families to embark on the greatest adventure of their lives. They moved across the country from Seattle, WA to just north of Knoxville, TN in obedience to God’s call. Since arriving in Tennessee they have seen God continue to confirm His call on their lives.In October of 2004 The Crist Family made their very first public appearance in the southeast and won 1st place in the group division talent contest for Ray Flynn’s “Alternative to Halloween” event. They were then given the opportunity to open the evening concert for groups such as The Talley Trio, The Crabb Family, The Hoppers, The Dove Brothers and many more. In April 2005 shortly after completing vocals on their first recording after moving to the south, they were asked to sign an exclusive recording contract by Crossroads executive Mickey Gamble at Crossroads Records. In July of 2005 Crossroads released The Crist Family’s first radio single “It’s Been a Journey”, which quickly charted 25 on the Singing News Chart.Since coming onto the scene in 2005, The Crist Family has recorded five CD’s and a “Crist Family Live” DVD. Every song released to radio has charted on the Top 80 Singing News Chart. They have made appearances on several Gospel Music Television networks and have sung in a variety of venues in 25 different States. The Crist Family has several top 5 and top10 nominations for Horizon, Breakthrough and New Artist of the Year awards from the various Gospel Music publications. Through it all, their greatest desire has and always will be to strive for musical excellence in ministry and follow the call God has placed on their lives… “to love and encourage as many people as we have time left on earth and share the peace and joy of having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.”
