About Me

LIVINGROOM JOHNSTON...
I once kicked a book that was in the trash. It had no jacket cover, just the vinyl hard cover. I picked it up and read it. Then I began going to the bookstore and finding books that I hated. I decided that if I kept running into books that I hated I might as well make my own.
I have met people who would say that there is no such thing as racism nowadays. It is easy to live in a little glass bubble in a neighborhood where people are not suffering, abusing each other and being abused by the police. Then there is the everyday part of life. The part where Black people do things like wake up, shower, get dressed and go to work. Not just in the corporate world. Some of the people I have come across have no idea whatsoever about us beside what is on the damn television set. Or, being poor and thinking they can relate, because being Black equals being poor, and being poor makes one a Nigger and poor Niggers make records and become rich Niggers and the ghetto becomes this fantasy world where people outside of it can live through it vicariously through the media and BANG! You have every race of Nigger walking around everywhere.
So... I got fed up with watching the boob tube and some of the music we make as well. My passion for writing grew as large as the greatest whale known to man. I wanted to read books about people like myself who are not gangsters, drug dealers, etc., although those aspects of my personality exist solely because I am from where I am from.
I write what I want to write when I want to. That doesn't make me a rich man. But money sometimes does not bring happiness. Hustlers, honest people and thieves. There's room for all of us, although some things should not be tolerated. Now buy a book and read the motherfucker...
