About Me
Malko aka Matthieu Brillard, lives in Paris and makes music here. First, he was singing in rock/fusion band (No way out?/Shilaam 1994-1997), then made a band with his own compositions (Manchild 1997-2001), with guitar and singing.
During this period, he composed with Kawadai (with Alex Pascaud and Alexis Theiler) more electro music which happened to be on documentary's,movie's, and jingles.
After this, he deciced to make music alone with his home studio, and met a producer to start the "Open Ticket" album project.
Making all production,programming,keyboards and a bit of singing, he has also invited a lot of musicians friends such as Thomas Naim(Guitar),Art bleek(Saxo/Flute),Airelle Besson(Trumpet), and singers as Hugh Coltman,Zahra Hindi,Spleen,Coka Brown,Vanessa Carracci and Malik Adouane.This first album is a musical journey starting from Paris and ending in London. 12 soundful paintings which follows the steps of a character that we discover broken and whom we follow in his reconstruction and his world discovering. In this trip, humans and musicals encounters inspiring an original fusion of musical styles (Pop,soul,bossa,afro-beat,trip hop,jazz rock,...).OPEN TICKET releases on december 2006,in France, distributed by EMI, then,a few months later, in Japan and Italy.
The album goes on FIP,Nova and local radios, then interviews and press articles, and around fifteen concerts with a band formed with Thomas Naim, Hugh Coltman. Ferricia Fatia (ALS), Come Aguiar (Silmarils) et Dacu (Raul paz, Spleen). Some tracks also releases on Wagram compilations ( Nu jazz, Indian Zen,…) and some others in Japan.From 2007 to 2008, Malko compose new tracks, in particular for Kimy (Vitaa) and Jean Roch, but mostly for himself, in a less world and electro mood, more soul and pop, where he's exploiting more the songwriter side and obviously, his voice. A more personal musical project, entirely produced alone, which gives more importance to the solo identity of the artist.The project is, for the moment, titled "Ladybird" and Malko is looking for a new production to release it.....
