About Me

Hmmm......for starters, please bear with my English ( as I'm Danish) secondly; hard to talk about — describe — yourself really....but, I guess this is supposed to be kinda "musical" ideas written here.....See, I'm a blues guitar player...well, sort of a wannabe blues guitar player....I play guitar solely by will, because I love the sound of a great blues guitar, more than from a God given talent or "call".... maybe that's why I have spent more time getting other artists to play, than myself....being a "hobby agent/booker / tour manager/guitar tech"...running a music club and a blues union.... I'd rather listen to really great players, than myself....and provide them with the best possible guitar gear, to make them sound/perform their best... and luckily enough that has allowed me to hear, meet, cook for, play with, tour with, and become friends with — a lot of my own idols and heroes like; : Alan Haynes, Appa Perry & "Uncle" John Turner, Omar & The Howlers, Anson Funderburgh, Coco Montoya, Debbie Davies, Rusty Zinn, Bernard Allison, Tony Vega, The Mighty Orq, The Hoax, Jon Amor, Memo Gonzalez & The Bluescasters, Darrell Nulisch & Johnny Moeller, Preston Hubbard, Magic Slim, Ronni Busack Boysen, Uffe Steen, Ole Frimer, among others.. And what an inspiration they all have been. Not only musically, but also as human beings and great personalities...I owe them all big time...thanks guys. Love y'all. I started playing myself pretty late....22 or so, and it took me quite a while to discover the uniqueness of The Blues....started out being impressed by the 80's metal players, and the rockier side of the blues, from guys like Walter Trout, and not the least; , Stevie Ray Vaughan caught my attention....like many other "young" blues guitar players he was my biggest hero for a long time, and I have collected what is to be collected by him, I believe... I guess I have more than 200 live recordings, videos, magazines, books etc.....and Stevie made me "listen backwards".... I read about his influences and got hooked on Albert King and got deeper and deeper into the blues....really now so deep I can't get out again...he-he...thank you Stevie, and rest in peace!!! Stevie also opened my ears to great female blues singers like Angela Strehli & Lou Ann Barton....I love the combination of their "sweet 'n mean" voices and his tough blues guitar...so that's what I've chosen to play in my own band... The Texas KingBees, which features great musicians; "Blue Karina" Reinmark on vocals....Anders "Big Al" Larsen on bass. Jan "Monk" Mortensen on Hammond and piano and my old friend and true blues buddy; , Klaus "Shuff" Christoffersen on drums. On a good day, we can really kick some ass...on a bad day...well, we're really bad...ha-ha... My previous bands are; "Out Of Tune", "Triple Trouble", "Texas Flood", "Mama's Cookin'"…."Blonde & Blue" and "Twenty Ton Weight"....For many years I was way too serious about it all, and was trying desperately to play like all the above heroes, which of course is impossible....there's a reason why they're both legends and world touring/recording artist....and I'm not....as mentioned, I'm not a true musical talent, but I do enjoy playing, and can tell that my playing can be enjoyed by others as well... a big turning point — THE turning point — was when my band once again opened for my "Blues Daddy", Omar (of Omar & The Howlers) and he said these wise words to me, right before we went on stage, "..You know Bee, it don't really matter what notes you play, as long as you just have fun... " and from that very day; my playing, and not the least stage appearance changed completely....and people noticed. Some friends in the audience that had heard me many times before said, what the hell happened with you tonight..? .....well, I started having more fun, enjoying the moment, trying to entertain and interact with the audience, instead of trying to play all the right fancy licks....that I couldn't play properly anyway....ha-ha...thank you Omar. And thanks for all the CD's you made me buy, when we travelled around Scandinavia....you were right Dad.....you can't live without a Frankie Lee Sims or Dr. Ross One Man Band CD.....you were right, there is no better slide tone, than Muddy's in "A Long Distance Call" on the "Fathers & Sons" CD....and hell no, it doesn't get much better than Hound Dog Taylor and Robert Nighthawk in"Live At Maxwell Street"....That said — about just having fun — of course I love great licks and are eager to learn and improve....and if you look for great licks you gotta hear Alan Haynes.....my guitar hero number one. That guy is plain unbelievable. Even after touring Europe with him for 6 years — at one time, listening to him 24 nights in 26 days — he still amazes me every night. So much finesse, soul, musical headroom, and TONE to die for... a Strat, a chord an and an amp...and he wails like no other...to MY ears...I'm proud to be his friend, and that he believes in me, the way he does... I'm so grateful. I will tell you the way we met another time and you'll understand... Man I could thank everybody mentioned earlier — person by person, for what they have meant to me...and still do.... But that wouldn't leave any server space for the rest of MySpace users.:-) ……so I'll stop for now...but will try to fine tune this section over time. Once again. please bear with my English....being Danish ya know... Yours Bluely, KingBee / Bjarne
