About Me
Wow I'm not quite sure where to start. What i know i can say for certain is that it's been a very long, tiresome, painful journey. But without the help support, and love i have been blessed to have from God, my mother father and twin Silver Frank, and my older twin brother Daniel{ or you probably know him as Imean}, Im not quite sure i would be in the position im in.
Just like every other music industry story you hear I had it rough getting to where i am. Ive been swindled out of money, used for damn near everythang, and made some poor decisions that landed me in a place where you pay your debt back to society. Through these years of hardship i grew and learned. Not just what not to do the next time, but how to try and stay afloat in a world that's so cold and vicious, where everybody's in it for themselve's. But in my life, and unlike the vast majority of entertainers, their is a huge aspect of my life that sets me apart.
I HAVE BEEN BLESSED LIKE NO OTHER!!! I was born and raised in East Oakland Ca during some of the toughest years the city has ever recorded. And although i saw things i didn't want too, and did things I shouldn't have done I had not just God looking over me 24-7, oh no, I also had Silver Rose White and Isaac Frank white, and im gonna go out on a limb and say they were probably working the 25-8 schedule. I never went without a hot meal. I never went without a roof over my head. Oh and don't get me wrong, we had v.i.p. status at Payless shoe source and the salvation army, but I NEVER had to worry about having clothes on my back. Wow..........Even at the age of 28 it still brings tears to my eyes. I have children and it hard enough provide the neccessities they need, and my parents made it look easy even though it was everything but. You see i was bad .... but my twin dani...oh Imean, he should have been born in a prison infirmary!! But I'll let Imean tell u about that. So unlike everybody else I've had a constant head start. Genuine support and love is everything and i didn't lack either one.
I started singing at a young age with my dad in the choir at church. by the time i was in highshool i not only joined their choir but also started playing the drums, to go along with my piano skills that i had been mastering for the previous 4-5 years. I would go home afterschool daily and pullout my little 19.99 walgreens keybord and taperecorder and make what at the time i though were good beats. {Imean} however, gave me constant reminders that the noise i was making was bothering him and to stop or there would be problems. What didn't bother him? From there i was blessed to recieve a partial scholarship to an elite music school in Emeryville Ca Called exspressions. Once again my good fortune and blessings came in, because although i received a scholarship, it wasn't nearly enough to pay full tuition and my mom and i worked out a deal such that she would pay up front and i would have to pay her back. after graduating my career started to take off. just being in the right place at the right time i have been priveledged to work with many successful artist ie, James Brown, E-40, Messy Marv, Mr Fab, cosmo, and MenaceMan just to name a few. This is my first album and i believe it could quite possibly jumpstart something big. I GUARANTEE that you have never heard an album like this before. Every verse, hook and word is 100% me. For anybody that truly knows me will know.....IT'S MY LIFE! Well I know i've been long winded but my daddy used to always remind that "What's the point of having to go over and do the same thing twice, when you can take care of bizness the first time get it over with."
Believe me i could go on for days, but like i said this album is me. And although my circle is small when it comes to truly knwing and understanding Matt Blaque, listen to the album and you'll be closer than the person that doesn't.
The Last thing i want to say is that if u think I was spoiled, or was born with a silver spoon in my mouth..............not only are you a HATER who wishes you could tell this story, but one thing i garuantee is that no matter who's shoes you've walked in, i haven't run across too many people who could handle these.
