BLACK SPYRAL DANCER: PRESS RELEASE
Black Spyral Dancer is a group of four aspiring artists from Athens, Ohio creating a highly energetic and evolved progressive musical fusion that commands the stage with the angst and passion of a manic depressive freight train.
Raw, yet refined, their unique style incorporates the brooding atmosphere of metal with the professional prowess of a distinguished jazz band. BSD draws both eclectic and mainstream appeal from sauntering middle aged-men to raving teenagers with a passionate display of on stage acrobatics and a sound that is both accessible and dynamic. As said in the 2004 Halloween issue of the Athens Insider, Black Spyral Dancer, infuses a danceable swagger with and undercurrent of dark, ethereal intricacies. Their message is both political and personal, drawing upon the trials of being human and the struggle to create a meaningful existence. Their performance is one that few forget.
***FAREWELL TO YOU ALL***
After several years of music, members, and gigs, BSD's time has finally come to an end. Although it is a sad fact, life must go on. We are in the process of archiving all of our set lists, getting hard copies down of our music, and (possibly) coming together for one last ridiculous jam before our lives take us down our respective paths. Majed is continuing his solo acoustic act, so be sure to catch him around town in the next few months.
We miss all of you more than you may ever know, and the memories of the nights we shared with our fans are undoubtedly some of the fondest times we can recall. Thanks for all the support, love, and dancing.
