Circles of Fellowship~
Hand to hand and heart to heart,
Spirits lifting as we start,
Striving toward a common goal,
Now heart to heart and soul to soul.
Voices join in fervent prayer,
Words and thoughts begin to share,
The door is open, faith our rod.
Now soul to soul and one with God.
Strengthened through past fires of hell,
Using the steps we know so well,
No need to crawl, so tall we stand,
Now one with God and hand to hand.
Circles like this cannot be broken,
Not by lies or harsh words spoken,
Forged by action our lives applaud,
By hand, by heart, by soul, by God
..
~A Whisper From the Grave~
You came to visit me dear brother
with sweet flowers in your hand
I have waited for what has seemed an eternity
to tell you, so you will understand.
You were right and I was wrong,
but I couldn't stop me, I had to go on
with the obsession that consumed me
as the pain grew slowly into addiction's pawn.
And left me standing on a freeway off ramp
begging with my little dog
with a sign that should have said; Help Me,
instead of "homeless", as I sat there in the fog.
Tell Mom and Dad I love them
and never planned to leave this way
I was in the grip of something
that had lead me far, far away....
From all the people that tried to save me
when I was out there on the street
wandering wasted and lost and so alone
to that place of distant dammed defeat......
I am sorry that they found me
with a bottle by my side
and tell them, I wanted to stop
but this was something I was denied
You gave me so many chances
to set things right and turn this stuff around
can't you see, or believe.....how bad things got,
until I rest here in this plot of ground
And I call out to your broken heart
Thank you for the life your tried to save
I pray that you hear me
as I whisper from the grave............
