Rich Montgomery

Rich Montgomery is a guitarist / bassist currently playing formal and casual jazz gigs in N. California. Rich has developed his improvisational style over the years playing many styles with many artists and bands. Originally from the underground psychedelic scene in S. California, Rich moved to the Bay Area in 1996 where he backed up artists such as Lisa Kolarich (contemporary country/pop...Bass) Kevin Beadles (roots rock...Guitar) Lavette Brown (contemporary R&B/soul...Guitar) as well as playing weddings, fundraisers and corporate gigs with Electroluv (Top 40/R&B/Jazz...Bass) and the Dave Verwiel Trio (jazz...Guitar/Bass).Rich is a graduate of Musicians Institute in L.A. where, among other things, he studied composition with Carl Schroeder (pianist, Sarah Vaughn, Barry Manilow...) and Scott Henderson (guitarist, Chic Corea, Tribal Tech, Joe Zawinal...)Rich also engineered the first two CD releases for the band Relic, distributed by Musea Records.
