About Me

Nelson Fernández, a.k.a. X-Man.Influenced in the early 80s by his cousin, X-Man became a mobile DJ and started his career. Shortly after, he began listening to artists such as Pet Shop Boys, Erasure, and New Order, which added the final spark to his interest in electronic dance music. Throughout an extensive career, he has always been involved in the growth of the Puerto Rican nightlife, peaking with an extensive five year residency at The Gallery Café, which provided him the opportunity to share turntables with some of the best local and international talent. Because of his extensive experience, techniques, skills and music selection, he is widely considered to be one of Puerto Ricos top DJs in the club industry.
In July of the year 2001, X-Man was the headliner in the Heineken Sound FFWD Dance Parade Tour in the Dominican Republic. He has always been in collaboration with some of the electronic music scene in the island and collaborates with the radio stations as well. In this year 2005, he has been a part of several major events, including the Coors Light Temple of Sound, as well as the Club Space World Tour.
X-Man has shared the decks with a wide array of international talent, among those are included: Paul Van Dyk, Sasha, Junkie XL, Ralph Falcon, Erick Morillo, Steve Porter, Sandra Collins, Paul Oakenfold, Keoki, Tiësto, Christian Smith, Sander Kleinenberg, Robbie Rivera, Seb Fontaine, Chris Fortier, Jimmy Van M, Darude, Dave Hollands, Greg Stryke Chin, Alexi Delano, Adam Freeland, K-Swing, DJ Craze, John Selway, John Beltran, DJ Colette, Peat Moss, Luis Diaz, Represent, The Scumfrog, George Acosta, DJ Dan, Jerry Bonham, Ivano Bellini, Cedric Gervais and many more.
Throughout the history of Puerto Rico nightclub life, X-Man has played in a numerous amount of venues, including: Shooters, Club Red, Club Babylon, El Teatro, Asylum, Eros, Maze, Oleo, Candela, The Waterlclub, Don Pablo, Club Hiedra, Area 51, Bliss, The Gallery and several others. He has also played in several clubs and outdoor events outside of Puerto Rico, which include: M-80, Lucky Johnnys, and Dads in Boston, Praia, Blue, Trio, Tribeca, Neon, 8 Puertas, La Romana Beach, Club Monaco, and Club Río in the Dominican Republic, as well as Sand Box Beach and Leverick Bay in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
X-Man has several productions underway, one of them partnering up with local DJ Alexander Cuba, called Signal Killer. Already out on September 2005 is his dub of Tonight by fellow local DJs and producers Carlos Lopez and John Ender Ríos, which was signed by Wallop Records (WALLOP028). In 06 is working on the 1 release of his mixed cd compilations called x-sessions wich includes original as well as other local dj's tracks. He is part of the working dj's in Balance Record pool.
In july 06 was the dj for the inaguration of M-BAR the first hi-end lounge in isla de vieques. Heading to the Red bull "Simbosis Sonora" Tour in the Dominican Republic. In summer 2007 was one of the dj that colaborate in the world's longast party "lLa longa". in 2008 got a new recidency in club milk in old San Juan and in Eternal a new venue in the heart of the condado nightlife in Puerto Rico.
