About Me

Shockwave Soundz is a one man club wrecking machine. Yours truly DJ Split Image grew up with a passion for music and loves an energetic crowd. I strive to be the best and perform a variety of sets including hip hop, reggae, soca, calypso, salsa, merengue, R&B, & reggaeton. I learned how to DJ when I was 14, by 15 I had my own equipment, and 16 I was starting to do parties at my high school. People may thing I'm your usual NY DJ but I'm so much more. The various styles of music that I play also give me different personalities on the mic (hence the name "Split Image"), I could be cool as a cucumber for a nice Salsa session, but be a real live wire getting forward after forward in a Reggae session....that kind of versatility is what I think sets me apart from any other DJ. Influences: Just growing up in Spanish Harlem you got alot of different flavors so my influences were all around me, nothing in particular. All the types of music that I spin are what has influenced me. Although I gotta give it up to my boy Mr. Fabulous, in college he put me on to what the real deal is with Reggae, and in a way helped me to develop the style I got now.....big up WB Crew in Springfield, Mass. WHA GWAAN!
Sounds Like: ......something you need to see for yourself....I'm not one of those types of DJ's where you may as well put in a CD changer because it's the same effect. My energy, song selection, microphone skills, & interaction with the crowd put me at a level that only few can achieve.
