After the release of Honest John Plain & Amigos by Angel Air in May 2003 there was an enormous demand for John Plain (The Boys, Crybabys, Fassbender) to take a band on the road, so he recruited Robbie Rushton (Crybabys, Ex-Whizz Kids) and Mat Sargent (Sham69, Splodgenessabounds, Ex-Chelsea) and the Amigos were born. They made their live debut headlining the Punk Is Dead Festival in Nijmegen/Netherlands followed by a European tour through Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and Belgium. In Spring 2004 they recorded their debut album at Jean Cataldos Rock On Studios in Annecy/France, played the Holidays In The Sun Festival in Morecambe and headlined another time the Punk Is Dead Festival. In September 2005 they were picked up at the Airport by Gary Pearce, who bought them a beer and duly joined the band as second guitarist.
