Willson & McKee

About Me

Touring together since 1990, Ken Willson & Kim McKee craft a freestanding hybrid of Celtic and contemporary acoustic adventure. Willson & McKee’s richly entwined harmony vocals ripple the emotions with traditional and original ballads, and an array of instruments, including dulcimer (2002 National Champion), harp, accordion, guitars, and bouzouki, guarantee a wild ride through traditional and original tunes sets. By mingling enthusiasm for the music of their ancestors with an airy approach to modern life, plus an intense desire to have fun, there is never a dull moment in their performances. Their seven recordings include prestigious awards such as the Milwaukee Irish Festival International Songwriting Competition, 1st AND 2nd place in 2003 and 2nd place 2005. Combining contemporary songwriting skills with traditional foundations, they transform the music into a refreshing journey… smiles and laughter required!
