About Me

Twist, formerly of "Voice of the Timepiece", brings a unique, and soulful look into the Chicago underground Hip-Hop scene. Lover's of Old School, Political, and Neosoul style Hip-Hop will feel his reflections on life in America's urban front. Lyrically, Twist offers a blend of stories, gripes, and celebrations of the world as he sees it. His music is self produced, and combines hard-hitting Hip-Hop rythyms, with rich instrumentation rooted in Jazz, Blues, and more. In addition to hi efforts in the Hip-Hop realm, Twist also, produces and records many other types of music, and is currently producing the score for a film-noir style short film, "The Last Bee in the Hive."Over the past five years, Twist has performed at a number of college campuses, special events, and night clubs in the Chicagoland Area. He has participated in a number of non-profit concerts in benifit of campus level political orginizations such as Campus Greens, and SSO. Twist can also be found on stage with RedLineConnexion , a Chicago based Hip-Hop collective made up of over a dozen MC's, producers, and DJ's."The World Is Strange & Twisted", is Twist's solo debut, and after two years in the making, is finally here. The mood of the album shifts from playful, to somber, to uplifting, over the course of twelve tracks. Topics covered include life's daily struggles, the war against insanity, political outrage, social defiance, the pursuit of freedom, and the need to say f@*k it all and just have a good time.
