About Me

I made my myspace layout using Pimp-My-Profile.com

My Interests

Books, sunshine, well-loved armchairs, Autumn, exploring, water (cascading, rolling, crashing, rushing, bubbling or still), laughing, mud between my toes, crackling fires, red wine, wind, the smell of rain, spices, adventures, sex, soft clean sheets, blooming daphne, naps, soft sweet kisses, storms, bonfires, dancing, exuberance, snow, and this could go on for a bit so I'll just stop there...

I'd like to meet:

Mohandas Ghandi, but that's a boring one. /Albert Einstein. I want to know his take on mathematics as they apply to bio-rhythms. /Niccol Machiavelli - so bad and yet so intriguing... /Martin Luther (not King). Anyone with the cajones to stand up to the Catholic church in the 16th century is worth meeting. /Jesus and Buddha/Siddhartha are a given. /Hildegarde. /Homer. I'm not entirely convinced he was real.... :) /Jonathan Swift. /The Marquis de Sade - from about 50 feet away. I can't really explain this urge, but it's a bit like a seeing a train wreck. Perhaps such things just remind me of my humanity and of the things I have to be thankful for. They provide a nice contrasting backdrop to life.Aphra Behn. I bet that woman was a hoot!Shakespeare, another boring one.Agelina Jolie. Because she's hot. Why does it seem like more girls think she's hot that guys? The Mayans - post Houdini act. I want to ask them what happened...

Movies:

I like some of these because they make me think and others because they are just fun... And one because I think the art of subtlety (not to be confused with disingenuity) is a bit lost on my generation. Hero, I Heart Huckabees, My Brother Where Art Thou, Boondock Saints, Audrey Hepburn in anything, Anger Management, Dr Strangelove, Driving Miss Daisy, Fifth Element, The Hours, Pitch Black, Meet Joe Black, Crocodile Dundee, Pride and Prejudice (A&E Version), Jackie Chan movies, The Ring, The Royal Tenenbaums, Secretary, Snatch, The Emperor's New Groove, The Thomas Crown Affair, The Usual Suspects... just to name a few...

Books:

In non-fiction, I like what Eckhart Tolle was saying but didn't care too much for his delivery in 'The Power of Now.' I really loved Daniel Quinn's Ishmael books. I've only read bits and pieces of Miguel Ruiz, but I like what the message. Short, sweet and full of great ideas. C.S. Lewis has some really profound philosophies for this century, not because they are groundbreaking but because they hold some of the older wisdoms that we may have chucked out with the bathwater in our rush to modernize. For fiction, I like David Weber, introduced to me by my friend's father. The worst good book I've ever read is 'Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting.' Great concept, bestseller, but I couldn't take the excessive, excited punctuation. I must confess, I didn't get all the way through it. *shrugs* Did it end well? ;)

Heroes:

My score on The Greek Mythology Personality Test :
Orpheus
(0% Extroversion, 66% Intuition, 100% Emotiveness, 71% Perceptiveness)
You are an artist, an aesthete, a sensitive, and someone who has never really let go of that childlike innocence. To you, all of life has a sense of wonder in it, and the story of Orpheus was written about someone just like you. When the Argo passed the island of the Sirens, Orpheus played a song more beautiful than the Sirens to prevent the crew from becoming enticed. When his wife died, he ventured into the underworld to charm Hades but, in his naivete, he looked back becoming trapped there. You can capture your unique world view and relate it to others with the skill of a master storyteller. Your sensitivity and creativity make you a treasure to the human race, but your thin-skinned nature and innocence can cause you a lot of disenchantment and pain. What's doubly unfortunate is that, if you try to lose those traits, you never will, and everyone will be able to tell that you're putting up an artificial shell to prevent yourself from being hurt.Famous people like you: Hemingway, Shakespeare, Mr. Rogers, Melville, Nick Tosches Stay clear of: Icarus, Hermes, Atlas
