This exhibition shows that the basic elements of “abstract art†(such as shape, color, geometry, proximity, and mass) are qualities inherent not just to Modern Art, but to the entire tangible world.
HISTORY
In December of 1992, semantics gallery was founded as a co-operative, alternative exhibition space (making it one of the longest surviving co-ops in the city). Since we do not rely on profit to survive, we have the freedom to provide un-restricted exhibition opportunities to emerging and non-traditional artists. Originally located in Over-the-Rhine, in 1995 semantics was flooded out and forced onto the streets. We have since found home at 1107 harrison ave in the Brighton area of Cincinnati, right off central parkway and just south of the western hills viaduct.
