With a soulful voice, and with years of classical training in Carnatic Music – Lakshmi has established her name in Indian musical scene in New York area. She is also known as a versatile singer singing with Pakistani and Punjabi singers. She started her classical training at a tender age of 5 and went on to perform at a tender age of 9. She has secured awards and prizes throughout her school and college days. She was also Performing at the All India Radio while she was in India.
She has performed solo as well as in the company of some of the scholars of Indian Classical,Ghazals,Bhajans and Light music, at various Indian and international locations such as Mysore, Singapore and tri-state area.She has recorded her voice in Hindi devotional Album ,Punjabi Pop and On December 6th 2006 her first Punjabi Album "Sadraan Pyaar Diyaan" released in new York,Very soon her Video Album is about to be released and She is working on an International Project with American Musicians, also doing another album in Kannada Devotional in India which is soon to be released. She also teaches music and dance.
She conducts Carnatic Music Classes and Bharatanatyam Dance Classes In Queens,Long Island New York.
