About Me
STRAYYYY TARGETSS!!
We are a four piece indie band based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire and have been together since January 2006! Influences include The Jam, The Jam, The Jam, Paul Weller and a sprinkle of Style Council.
IMPORTANT NEWS FLASH!!, Alan is.....sadly departing soon to serve his country on the high seas. We hope he'll keep us in mind on his swashbuckling adventures.
"Brilliant. A work of pure eclectic, noise-induced musical sex." - Rasputin, 1916
"Totally bodacious. Wish I'd put 'Feedback Jack' in my little red book." - Chairman Mao, 1976
"The Stray Targets are truly more important than roads, statues and gladiators, and if you say otherwise, you can fook off." - Julius Caeser, sometime when Romans were around
"I am truly honoured that these youths have captured my essence for the musical archives of the universe" - Papa Cheetham, yesterday
THE BAND
Shaun - Lyric writer, vocalist and general constructor of most of the songs. On some choons he even likes to strum some chords. Shaun is warm-hearted and quite lovely. Influences include 60's stuff and mod revival music. Shaun wants to be on the Locust Team when he grows up.
Millsy - Guitarist of justice, bringer of pain to his enemies! Or maybe not. Millsy joined the band after being asked to join the band, how exciting. Millsy loves Jack Johnson and other singer songwriters like Bob Dylan. Millsy is a digester of processed sandwiches and plays a mean game of pool.
Alan - Bassist, trilby-wearer and bike rider (and dance commander). Al basically likes everything, but hates criminals. He is an avid crime fighter during the day and is fueled by a regular diet of pizza, burgers, chips and babies. ALAN LOVES TO DANCE!
Joel - Drums!! He 'wrote and co-wrote' the unreleased songs "Stray Targets going home" and "Discussion Of Luxuries". He has lucious brown locks that he'll never get cut. He listens to Beck and makes stupid flash movies/comics under the alias 'lenkobiscuit' which is a completely unfathomable name.
First part of the Feedback Jack EP is now completed and online, collected in 3 tasty tunes. These chronicle the adventures of a disgruntled young man who wishes to break out of his 'dismal little town' and, to put it one way, 'ave it large'.
He encounters many crazy characters along the way, some who even have songs of their own like that greedy bastard Big T.
If anyone fancies bookin' us for a night of bliss, just let us know. We're easy.
