As many of you know, Mr RICHARD is a very well known man in the small city of Lancaster. For years he has been networking and laying the foundations of friendship amongst people from all ages and walks of life.
Last summer however, Richard travelled to France to enbark on year out for his course at Leeds University. Richard worked for his step dad and also in a local Irish bar - he did not like the bar job as he was forced to speak in an irish accent but the pay was good so he continued. Living in another country, alone and scared, Richard became clinically depressed - unfortunately, this is not recognised as an illness in France and Richard could not receive treatment.As the months rolled by, Richard became more and more depressed, he craved affection and missed his loving family back in Lancaster. Unfortunately, because of the circumstances in which Richard left the UK, he was unable to return. This due mainly to the fact he failed to attend a court summons granted to him by Lancaster Magistrates Court for breach of contract. Richards failure to turn up in court meant a warrant was issued for his arrest ... Richard went into hiding.The lack of meaningful interation in Richards life became too much and reports began to surface of "wrong-doings" with young looking tourists. Richard was arrested on Wednesday the 8th March 2006 by Cannes police who described him as "One of the worst sexual predators to ever set foot in Cannes."Following Richard's arrest, the French authorities contacted Lancaster police who beleived for some years - although they could never prove it - that Richard was a serial groomer. More stories began to surface of Mr Halstead 'grooming' girls from local schools, it was understood he often proposed to girls younger than him, knowing every young girl dreamed of getting married, promising them the world.Police say, it is understood Richard used to borrow his mother's car and pretend it was his own in an attempt to woo young girls who could not drive.We at SAVE RICHARD beleive that he is totally, 100% INNOCENT.We are campaigning for his release from the high security French jail he is currently being held. In France, the punishment for this sort of crime is not custodial, and should he be found guilty ... he wil be castrated and returned to the UK to face the British courtsPlease pledge your support and join us in our attempt to FREE RICHARD
