About Me

Roanna Shaundini Shebala, AKA Rowie Shebala, AKA Halo 2 Girl. After saving the universe from the flood, she ended up on stage in Flagstaff AZ, telling them that girls can play video games.
Born on the Navajo Reservation, of Ft. Defiance AZ. The oldest of four kids in the Shebala house, always finding inspiration in the very day living of her brother and sisters, and then encouragement from her parents. Very shy and quiet at first, but after hearing her stories on stage is when you see a glimpse of her life in verse.
Brought up in a traditional home of the Dine people. Respecting all elements around her. Holds her loved ones with the highest regards, and keeps her poetry just as close is what keeps her sane.
Rowie first started to slam in January 2005, and by April of the same year, was one of the Top Ten Slam Poets of 2005 NORAZ Poetry Grand Slam, and Following in 2006 one of the Finalist Contenders again. Than making her top ten in Phoenix Slam.
What is interesting is that her first slam ever was the 2004 NORAZ Poetry Grand Slam, and was a judge. After that, she was a judge at a number of the slams in Flagstaff.
After a while, her brother had encouraged her to slam. Her first time on the mic with her poetry was during the November 2004 Presidential elections when she wrote a poem telling everyone to vote "Politically Incorrect". She is a short Navajo girl, just looking to be heard. This is Rowie Shebala, a little shy, but always a sweet little short Dine woman.
Eric Braidhair, Born on the Navajo Reservation, of Ft. Defiance AZ and raised in Chinle, Az. The oldest of five kids in the Braidhair hogan.
Growing up on The Rez he found his voice within music and is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist although taken a few lessons here and there. Music was the world where he escaped too in his childhood of drugs, violence and poverty just like everywhere on the reservations nationwide.
When time came to leave The Rez he chose the military as his way out. A Combat Veteran of OIF. He served 4 years in The Marine Corps and is one of the first to cross the border into Iraq when Operation Iraqi Freedom first commenced.
Now collaborating with Rowie he has scraped the dust off his old Poetry Writings and Musical Scores and ready to hit the poetry scene which is a slight difference in stages which he is accustomed to. Having been in numerous metal/punk/hardcore bands in the valley and california he now takes a journey into the world of poetry to find the poet that has been hiding within all these years.
