2nd Wind is the primary musical project of Houston-based vocalist and bassist "Hollywood" Steve Rangel. Steve is an accomplished performer who honed his craft as a former member of such prominent area bands as Mean Gene Kelton And The Diehards, Monica Marie and The Blues Cruizers, and Matt Leddy and The Meatcutters.2nd Wind is a tight, professional, 3-piece unit that performs a commercial mix of blues, classic rock, oldies and R & B. Formed in late 1997, the band has established a respectable following in Houston and surrounding areas.The band is known for their renditions of hits from classic 60s artists such as Chuck Berry, The Beatles, and Elvis Presley, as well as the blues of B.B. King and Stevie Ray Vaughn. They also perform a dynamic mix of classic rock from Bob Seger, Jimmy Buffet, and Creedence Clearwater Revival, among others. Rounding out their repertoire with selected country and dance favorites, 2nd Wind is an ideal group for any and all live music needs.The band's current line-up includes guitarist Starr Jernigan and veteran Houston drummer "Big" Ed Martinson.
