Through memory we travel against time...

Every morning I awaken torn between the desire to save the world and the inclination to savor it.

About Me

"What I cannot love, I overlook. Is that real friendship?"~ Anais Ninn

Pain is inevitable; suffering is optional.
These are from this summer when I was traveling in Italy. This was taken in Rome at the Vittoriano. My friend Toby who took the picture thinks it looks too much like a Hollywood set.
Under the Tuscan Sun... in the Tuscan Sunflowers.
These were shot near our villa in Tuscany.
In Moscow many years ago...
At the Taj...
With Marc in the Amazon.
This is me when I am not working... This shot is from one of my trips to Egypt, but it could be just about anywhere in the world. The only continent left to visit is Antartica and the only large territory left to explore is sub-Saharran Africa.
On safari in Napal... This is one of our elephants who escaped us for a number of days... Funny, yes, unless you are stuck carring the kit...
Here I am in Kathmandu, Napal... It was safer then... I look forward to the day that I can take groups of people back to this amazing country.
This is me at Machu Picchu in Peru... I am really into archeology. There is something about being in a place which spans the ages. This place, this moment, was spiritual.
This is part of my photo set from China... I love travel photography!!! Though often the sacrafice of the moment for "the shot" is, alas, too much to bare... hence, the best shots are often preserved only in my memories...
"Smiles are like flowers. They are insignificant. Yet, scattered along life's paths, the good they do... is immeasurable."
Also in China... and we didn't... mostly because it appears we were too late!
This was a great exhibit at the Tate Modern in London. (This is also my photography.)
A different angle. (This is also my photography.)
I love museums. The last exhibit I attended was the "Ashes and Snow" traveling exhibit in Santa Monica. If you ever have the opportunity to see that exhibit, don't miss it!!!
This is me at one of the oldest pyramids, the Step Pyramid at Saqqarra. Did I mention that I love archeology?

My Interests

Adventure travel, archeology, singing, theater, (ask me when you see me...)

LIfe shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage.

This is my favorite picture of me at the Great Wall of China. I think it most accurately captures the searcher in me...

This statue of Newton sits in the courtyard of the British Library in London where I did the research for my doctoral dissertation. I spent many a lunch sitting right here staring at this statue.

Truth Constant (for J)

Truth is a constant. It does not waiver, stumble, or fall. We do. As when we mold it to represent our moments fashion. Say in the pretending of being what one is not. And in the end, pretence fal...

On Beauty

As I lay thinking of your nude body sleeping beside him... I stir myself from my afternoon rest and walk out into the sunlight. Along the narrow path and up the gently winding steps, I realize myself...

Carmelos Balcony

Carmelo's terraced garden overlooks the Coliseum. From his balcony we watched as the waning moon appeared and disappeared again behind the clouds as if engaged in some childhood game of hide and seek...

Thoughts on Change
