Shockwave Generators

About Me

Shockwave Generators are Devonian rock 2 piece Sezrah and Andy Shaw.
Brief band history:
Met in 2002,were in different bands until they lived together and recorded thier first album in2003 as an experiment, Rocktober,Indigo Screams and the Starlight Rat Device' in one month at thier home studio Azrahland .
In 2004 Shockwave Generators began to gig and recorded another album 'Rocktober,Scarlet Dreams and the Incandescent Ferris Wheel Brigade' again in one month.
By 2005, the band started to gig frequently , and won a battle of the bands competition which won them studio time at Aardvark Studios from which they recorded a 4 song self titled E.P.
In 2006 the band gigged alot more across the UK and recorded another E.P at the Phoenix in Plymouth, which is currently still to be released in 2007.The band built up more of a fanbase, also due to the internet through websites like myspace. They started thier own fanzine Indigo Screams and started producing thier own custom made merchandise. Check our top friends,Kitsch Witch is the name of Sezrahs merchandise. They wrote a few new songs at the end of the year and remixed one of thier songs for Halloween.
20072007 has been one eventful year for the band, they recorded a few songs and had ideas for an album, but sadly due to a separation, the band decided to split up in autumn 2007. We will still keep Shockwave Generators alive by updating the player with some of our old songs, and chatting to all the friends we made through the journey of this band.

Reviews
Shockwave Generators - Exeter Hub 28-5-07 (gig review)
A thumpingly explosive start to the night from a two-person wall of grimy garage rock. Shockwave Generators’ Queen of the Stone Age esque, riff driven alt rock with a dark side, filled the room like a juggernaut overflowing with liquid cool.
This was half an hour of non-stop rock as it should be. Stripped down to its purest and best elements, no flowery crap, just big sounds and sacks of ummf – you feel it in your chest, it rings in your ears and makes you grin like a cat that’s just found it’s way to Cheshire. Tar thick guitar sounds pumped through a bass amp and pounding drums. Maximum head nodding riffage and plenty of eccentricity – ticks all the boxes for a good live band in my book.
Fluffy pink guitar straps, random bursts of drum duets and a considerably more bizarre box of toy dolls. The grand finale involved pounding a floor tom with a pair of Barbie dolls while the guitar, flat on it’s back front of stage, wailed feedback into the air in tune to the tribal plastic drum beats. Dolls and drums my friends, that’s the future of rock and roll! Come on Barbie, let’s go party.
