STAMEN
Formed in 2005, STAMEN is an Alt-Rock/Indie band founded by long time friends Dwaun Thomas (Singer, Songwriter, and Guitarist) and Adam Poranksi (Guitarist and Now Drummer) in Houston, Texas.
Dwaun and Adam have played together in various incarnations of other bands for years and were shortly joined by Adam’s brother Peter Poranski on Bass in 2005 to form the core of STAMEN and immediately started fine tuning their unique and original music with its unmistakable sound ranging from aggressive Funk-Rock to Retro Punk. Dustin Clark became involved and brought a whole new dynamic to Stamen.
We are an experienced modern rock / alternative band band that has been playing together for over 3 years. We have been able to build a pretty good fan base and consistently draw a good crowd.
We are booked to play the Houston Roller Derby Championship game on Aug 15th and we have played at Rock the Bayou (http://www.rockthebayou.com) and have also played TheTexas Buzz Showcase hosted by 94.5's Zakk United at the Scout Bar.
We have played such venues as The Scout Bar, Rudyard's, Dan Electro's Guitar bar, upstairs and downstairs at Fitzgerald's, Crazy Frogs, The Engine Room, Acadia, Last Concert Cafe, both FBI Rocks 1 and 2, Gary's Spot as well as numerous smaller bars and parties in Houston and Austin.
