It was clear that this group had a shared love for music and performing... and their once idle chat of forming a band called BentPeter became more serious. Phil "Liquid Fingers" Marrone was soon recruited at bass guitar and spirits leader, er, spiritual leader and the group was off.
Their inaugural performance in June 2005 was an epic show played with another local band, the Hitmen. They rocked the house of hundreds of friends and fans; most of whom were shocked at to learn this collection of 40-somethings could actually pull off such a show.
From there, expectations would only rise. Adding John Paul Schaeffer shortly thereafter brought the musical talent level of the group up a notch and added a great sound. Their next performance at a sold out benefit saw the group blossom with a show of their own and a growing set list of great rock classics mixed with a newer alternative sound as well.
The reality of their non-band lives (families and day jobs) causes the group to be very selective in choosing its gigs... but they continue to book a select number of venues, nightclubs, charitable functions, and corporate and private parties bringing their great brand of entertainment to each. They’ve secured a very loyal following as they pack the house at each venue they play... and have been the cover story in local newspapers. The band is "bent" on keeping a very eclectic song list that will contain classic edgy rock from the likes of The Romantics, Free, The Ramones, The Kinks, etc. and newer alternative music from Better than Ezra, Collective Soul, Nickleback, and Wheezer as well. Old guys with an edge!
