BATS N ROME : BIOGRAPHY
BATS:
BATS (Part I of the duo) Bats, named Maximo Hernandez Jr., was born in the Dominican Republic in 1979. When only a few months old, his mother migrated to the United States in search of a better life and left Bats in his father’s care. Bats’ childhood was filled with music. Being raised in D.R. played a major role in his musical influences and appreciation for Latin music. He grew up listening to the likes of Leonardo Favio and Jose Jose. At the age of twelve, his father died in a fatal motorcycle accident and Bats came to the United States to live with his mother. His love for music grew fonder in the U.S., he began listening to Hip Hop, Rap, R & B, and Freestyle. Through Bat's struggles he found refuge in music. Making music became his passion and his escape. Bats always wanted to do something different, he didn't want to rap about guns and murders.
