Hi, welcome to the Small Blue Fish page!!
My name is Michele and I am a singer-songwriter who's band is currently
going through a major line-up change. I will be updating this more thoroughly as soon as poss, so please bear with me !!!
There are now 3 new band members, giving 'Small Blue Fish' a much fuller sound, featuring : semi-acoustic guitar, bass, drums, occasional keyboards, fiddle and bodhran.
We are based in South-West Shropshire, close to the Welsh border - a very beautiful, evocative and inspiring part of the country.
Our own songs are a bit of a mixture, with shades of folk, rock and jazz. Lyrics that reflect our search for answers on this wierd and wonderful trip we call life - sometimes politcal, sometimes otherworldly and dreamlike but usually someplace in between.
At present the four original tracks on our music player, are taken from the six track EP 'Against The Tide' - when Small Blue Fish's previous incarnation was as a duo. The live covers on here are also from that line-up and we shall endeavour to get new recordings on here ASAP, as well as full details and photos of the new band members !!!!
To date, Small Blue Fish has played many gigs locally as well as venturing further afield. The 'Folk-on-the-pier' festival in Cromer, Norfolk being the furthest one yet. Other festivals performed at include : Clun Green Man; Bishop's Castle Folk+Beer Festivals;Kington Folk;Sheep Music at Presteigne, Nantwich Folk+Roots and Festival At The Edge - Much Wenlock.
Most recently we were doing gigs for the promoters 'Acoustic Brew', playing at venues in and around Birmingham. Katie Fitzgerald's in Stourbridge was a particular favourite !! Met some GREAT people at those gigs :-)
We love playing live and are open to support slot invites from any like-minded performers who think our music may be compatible with theirs.
Small Blue Fish has supported - Mike Sanchez; The Queensbury Rules; Hoover The Dog; Isambarde; The Loosehounds; Vin Garbutt; Julie Felix; Kate Bramley; Emma & The Professor and Rue Royale.
If there are any promoters /event organisers/agents out there, who may be interested in booking us - just email or message us here and we'll get back to you to arrange something :
