About Me

Born May 16, 1983 in Tacoma, Washington, Dominic Clary, son of Tanya Whittaker and Vinson Clary, Logic knew at the age of 10 he had a solid gift for the arts. Having an artistic desire in his heart he became active in dance, drawing, and poetry. At the age of 11 Logic’s parents divorced forcing him to take on the responsibilities of a man leaving his childhood behind. As he entered into high school Logic steered away from dance and drawing to focus his time and energy on sports and his poetry. Through creative writing Logic developed a high degree of literacy that would later help to characterize his lyrics. By the age of 16 he began to transform his poetry to rhymes thus beginning his journey to become an influential lyricist. His synthesis of well-crafted rhetoric and street savvy imagery blossomed in 2003 when Logic caught his first recording studio break with Bay Area artist Jeff “SCI-RYL” Riggs of the Wolfppac. After getting his feet wet in the rap industry his thirst and desire to become a recording artist took full force, only to have his mentor flee the state. Discouraged by the set back Logic took a break for most of 2004 to regroup and attempt another approach on Hip Hop. In December of 2004 Logic took hold of the mic to record his first unreleased track “Me and My Boo”, causing yet another push to his already rolling momentum towards the music industry. In 2005 he began to purchase his own studio equipment to start his own movement. In March of 2006 Logic blessed the mic again to record his first released track “So Much Pain” featuring Joktan. Later that year after all of his hard work and dedication Logic started his own record label Interstate Records along with two members Dewayne “Desert Eagle” Armstrong and Anthony “Mr. CZ” Harrison, at which time he began to produce beats for several genres of music including Hip Hop, Pop, Reggaeton, and R&B. It wasn’t until the summer of 2007 that Logic and Interstate Records suffered yet another rough set back when two of his colleagues and former members stole from the record company causing a pending lawsuit. In a recent interview Logic had this to say “As the new year approaches I am determined to stay strong and focus on the goal at hand, which is to continue doing what I love to do and expressing it to the world of fans all over. 2008 marks my year to break through.”By ART ’07
