There are also some FREE DOWNLOADS for a brief while available through the reverbnation player, IF you are registered as a 'fan' on Reverbnation. One is our cover of 'Nausea', which we've done our own mix of, because it's being released on a compilation CD later this year to raise funds for motor neurone disease, and we wanted to hear it! So this is a PREVIEW - not definitive - mix of the tune, and we hope that if you download it, you'll remember to BUY THE CD (we'll tell you when it's available and how to get it! It features some favourite bands in the Bristol area covering some favourite songs of the man who's organised it - choice!)
The album Tourist will be released on Pretty Mouth Records on November 11 on CD and download (Orchard for international digital distro, Ryko/WEA US distro).
We're looking for excellent booking agents, a responsible, credible and passionate manager, whatever. We're sending promos to press and radio. If you want one, by gum let us know. The Motorman album was released on Patchogue Records in late 2007. It features parts of the book 'Motorman', read by the author, David Ohle, set to random original music by our band. It also features 8 original Venus Bogardus songs, including the proper version of Motorman, which may be heard in demo format on The Wiretapper 17, which was released with the May 2007 issue of The Wire (Mark E. Smith + Mouse on Mars = von sudenfed on the cover...). Thanks to David Ohle for his contribution. GO BUY DAVID OHLE'S LATEST BOOK, 'THE PISSTOWN CHAOS', NOW! So, my band Venus Bogardus includes me, my husband, James Reich, and our drummer Obaro Evuarherhe .
The character 'Isabel' in the book 'Julie & Julia' (Julie Powell) is a rubbish fictionalisation of ME.
I'm from Austin, Texas and James is English, from England. Obaro's from Nigeria, then Coventry, and now Bristol.
For those of you who are wondering, I am the Hannah that once owned and ran Secession Books Limited with James. it's us. Best bookshop in England. Dust is mostly settled 2 years on, but I still have some rants about the state of the world. Or, read this, which I think I can fairly attribute to Dudley Moore: 'They're all cunts out there!!!' ...That does it, really.
I'm also the Hannah who 'moderates' Richard Hell's web forum. Please, everyone, read Richard's latest book, GODLIKE, which is really wonderful.
