About Me

The Music Well is a volunteer, not-for-profit web radio station, co-ordinated by professional musicians. It's fully licenced and available 24/7, and it exists to promote and celebrate all the folk music genres of the british islands.

The main contact point for the Music Well is Phil Snell (phil[at] philsnell.co.uk). You can send new material to George Papavgeris (for Music Well), 53 Frances Street, Chesham, Bucks HP5 3ES or contact him at george[at]folk4all.net.

Band Members: Anyone can make a show for the Music Well and we will help you turn your idea into a successful programme. There is a programme makers guide and technical details on the 'Make a Show' page, but the first thing to do is simply email us here at TMW with your suggestion, and we can develop your show with you to meet our legal and licensing requirements as well as provide good quality entertainment for our listeners.

Many of the current broadcasters are professional touring musicians or broadcasters, but if you have the enthusiasm to make a show and a particular style of music you'd like to explore then please do get in touch.
Influences: The Music Well is dedicated to the music and traditions from the UK and Ireland and we try to feature a good mix of artists from all folk styles and geographical locations. We aim to be something of an on-line folk festival - with 'Main Stage'-type shows (similar to those you might hear on other stations) showcase spots for newer artists, workshops for learning, as well as interviews and documentaries across a range of specialist subjects.

The web pages also offer background information, pictures, chat, archives and links, for those who want to carry out research, or contribute in some other way.
