Hailing from Melbourne, Australia - 22 year old Brendan Blatt has already gained a highly credible DJing Profile, not only in his home town, but internationally as well.At just 17 Brendan landed a weekly residency at one of Melbourne’s most well known trance venues at the time -'Altitude' - after impressing promoters at an open decks night. Within months Brendan was asked to run his own monthly trance night called 'Deliverance' which he ran for over a year. Alongside this Brendan also collaborated with other crews such as the 5am crew who had toured a string of established international djs throughout Australia.
In 2006 Brendan made the decision to leave Australia and head to the clubbing capital of the world - London, to further his musical interests and DJing experience. Within months Brendan had landed a weekly spot @ M1 Club and was supporting the likes of Fedde Le Grande and Felix of Basement Jaxx. This quickly turned to more international gigs where Brendan was booked as the M1 Resident for the Super 7s weekend in Hong Kong. Things only got better for the youngster upon returning to the UK, with M1 again having Brendan as their Resident at the 5 day festival De Cannes in France, billed alongside Bassment Jaxx and The Groove Armada Sound System. Brendan also went on to play the Pre-Party for Groove Armada in Lagos, Portugal before they headlined the Front beach to an 8,000 strong crowd.
With a string of great gigs and his weekly residency, Brendan’s desire to run his own parties soon returned as he put together the brand 'Supernature' and hosted his first international party at the infamous 'Hidden' nightclub in London. Featuring was Dutch trancer 'Robert Nickson' of the Armada fame & huge up and coming London Djs 'Ali Wilson and Matt Smallwood' - who together were named Carl Cox's Producers of the year.
The party was such a success that Brendan was approached by investors soon after to run and host a major event at one of the UKs most well-known nightclubs – ..Heaven’. Located in the heart of London, Brendan put together a night worthy of making any tranceaddict sweat.
Acts Head lining the main stage were:
'Aly & Fila' touring their new cd for Armada.
Giuseppe Ottaviani (live) - who one week earlier had been voted 1 Live act @ The 2007 trance awards, beating PVD and Tiesto
Alex M.O.R.P.H. - who's been a prominent name in the trance scene for over a decade.
In support were local residents from MOS and Fabric.
The night turned heads as Brendan’s greatest achievement so far drew a packed house of London’s trance massive.
Brendan’s 'Supernature' reputation further grew with a Headlining Gig @ KANDI in the Greek Islands, followed by an upcoming booking in November 2008 for a return tour of China, this time with gigs in Hong Kong and Shanghi.
An exciting future awaits for this young professional, as his productions are finding their way around, with a number of his tunes already receiving support from London residents at Pacha and Fabric.
The future can only hold big things for this talented young professional, with plans to return to Australia for the summer and some big new productions to come out of the bag, make sure you keep an eye out for this up and coming young superstar!
