About Me

I have just been appointed as Delta Zeta Sorority's National Music Director and I will soon be heading to South Beach, Florida to perform at DZ's National Convention! I am a single, never-married, master's degreed young professional with no children. I was blessed with an incredible mother and I would rather have had the Mom that I had for the 26 years I had her than 100 years with any other mother. My Grandma Cleva is my hero. She is an incredible example to me and incredibly unselfish always thinking of others before herself. She has taught me many of her renowned cooking and baking secrets. I enjoy each day for the gift that it is. I'm an alumnae of Delta Zeta Social Sorority and my alumnae chapter sisters are the lights of my life. My fantastic DZ Big Sis is Kristen who is a Ph.D. student in Long Beach, California and my fabulous DZ Little Sis is Jordyn who is a master's student in Texas. My wonderful Great-Grand Big is Heather who lives in Nashville. My DZ Diamond is Elizabeth who is a college undergrad student at a Michigan university. I am her DZ Pearl. I serve the Tulsa Alumnae Chapter as an officer this year. I am the Alumnae Liaison for my collegiate chapter, Delta Phi at NSU. I am a Soroptimist and will be installed soon as a board member for 2008-09. I have a passion for politics and current events. I am a member of Cherokee County Democrat Women. I am a RENThead, a term given to devoted fans of the Broadway musical "RENT".I have a wonderful job that I love in research, an ability I have loved and enjoyed since I was literally a child. I have been singing since I was 5 years old and acting since I was 8. I perform often and my performance calendar is already filling up for this summer. I love traveling and sightseeing, seeing new places and visiting favorite places again. I have a keen interest in the Civil War battlefields of the South and I travel to them to visit and research them often. I am Starbuck's aficionado, and my favorite is Frappucino. I have an affinity for women's fashion, especially shoes and handbags. This spring performed in a mystery dinner theatre with a "haunted house" theme where I performed a female lead role of a chic Hollywood socialite who goes to visit her family in Salem, Massachusetts, site of the Salem Witch Trials, which have long fascinated me as well as the character I played.

My Interests

I enjoy spending time with family and friends, cooking and baking, singing, performing in theatre productions, DZ sisterhood, entertaining in my home, church activities, live theatre performances, watching football, OU Sooners sports, Dallas Cowboys football. I have a keen interest in women's fashion. I'm a James Dean collector. I enjoy politics, current events, NASCAR (surprised about that one?), collecting Kennedy family memorabilia. I collect turtles, my sorority's mascot. I have several causes that I crusade for, including hunger prevention, Dress for Success and arts education in the schools.My icons are: Natalie Wood Jackie KennedyJFK & RFK

Music:

Music is a big part of my life. I have been singing since I was 5 years old and I had an incredibly vocally talented and pianist mother who paved the way for the musical appreciation I have today. I love and perform a variety of musical styles. Most of my favorites are showtunes. My very favorites are the Broadway musicals "RENT" and "Wicked". I am a big supporter of NSU's summer shows, River City Players and Downtown Country, especially Brian Gaylor and Kelli Farmer. I love the music of Michael Buble, the Rat Pack, the Osmonds, David Cassidy, Barry Manilow, Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift, the Dixie Chicks and Kenny Chesney.

Movies:

"Seven Brides for Seven Brothers", "Rebel Without a Cause", "Giant", "The Sound of Music", "RENT", "East of Eden", "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof", "Easter Parade", "The Sound of Music". My favorite movies of Summer 2008 has been "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" and "Sex and the City".

Television:

SJP as Carrie Bradshaw and the ladies of "Sex & the City" and on the big screen this summer!I'm a Food Network devotee. My favorite shows are Paula Deen, Sandra Lee and Rachael Ray. I am a loyal "Dancing With the Stars" & "American Idol" watcher and voter.

Books:

The foremost is the The Holy Bible. I collect first edition hardcover Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys mysteries. I'm a foodie and I collect good cookbooks. I have a keen interest of books about Civil War battlefields in the South.
