Welcome to the MYSPACE site for VEGAS FLAVA RECORDS! We are a new concept in the music business, an Internet only record label that caters to the R&B,Jazz, Dance, Reggae,Rap (NO GANGSTAS), Hip-Hop and Neo-Soul markets. You won't see our music in stores unless we get the P&D (pressing and distribution) deal that is beneficial to us and our artists. We are currently looking for artists and writers, so feel free to email us and let us know what you have. It's a brave new world out there and the major labels and their gatekeepers are becoming less and less relevant every day as now the people have a choice as to what they listen to and purchase. We have distribution thru Itunes, and when MYSPACE brings their system online we will sell directly through them as well. If you have at least enough material for one cd (10-14 songs),we'd like to hear from you, whether you have a site here or your own site. Our internet site (VEGAS FLAVA RECORDS) will be up Jan 1st 2007, but we expect to do much of our initial contact with artists and writers through MYSPACE. Our setup is innovative,and unlike the majors we have nothing to hide and don't ripoff artists. Our concept is simple: a small advance if warranted,and we split the profits 50/50 after promotional expenses (mostly video costs and radio & DJ pressings). Everybody gets the same deal, and we plan to work a small amount of artists (no more than ten) for the first 18-24 months. It's a record company by artists for artists and everyone gets the same treatment.With a major label,all of the expenses come out of your royalties.Here at VEGAS FLAVA, if you sell 500,000 copies, you pocket $1.75 million(minus 50% of the expenses).At a major label, you sell 500,00 copies you get diddly, and maybe dropped from the label! We intend to be the "Motown" of the 21st century! So if you have a commercial sound or songs with good hooks, HOLLA BACK!
