June 5, 1986, Owen “Newo tha kid†Austin Jr. was born and raised in the Brooklyn. His love for music came from both his father and grandfather who were both reggae djs. At the age of 2 he was exposed to the turntables and of course watching his father practice before he left to go party. By the time Newo was 9 years old he began playing the drums at his private school (Ebenezer prep School). He embarked on a program called Fruityloops which was software which enabled him to make beats.
In High School he told himself that he wanted to be a producer. After hearing Timbaland producing hits like Aaliyah’s One in a Million, Ginuwine’s Pony, and Missy Elliot’s countless hits he strive to be like him. Of course Old School rap and Hip Hop played a major part he Newo’s life. He would listen to the Beatnuts, Krs-One, LL cool J, Canibus, Kool G Rap, Rakim, Notorious B.I.G. Then listening to does beats gave him more inspiration to produce music. As a drummer his percussion arrangements were on point.
He started a team called Sho-n-Prove which consist of 4 producers but eventually more producers join the click. Going through high school was not easy for Newo because people would often say that he can’t make a beat that sounds good. When senior year came around proved a lot of people wrong when gave beats to Fat Man Scoop. His team and other producers around him gave him they inspiration that he need.
In 2007, Newo wins his First beat IPA Battle two days before his birthday. At this time he engineers at Selfmade Studios in Brooklyn. He owns an MPC 4000 and many other software’s. He a Dj name Dj F.A.M.E. who is a turntables that showcases his beats and networking parties and etc…..
