This is how I remember it...............Older brother, Chris Cauble, gets his first guitar & amp, a Custom Les Paul sunburst, and Fender deluxe reverb to learn to play the Heavy Metal on. Graduates Northwest Cabarrus High school and with his $$, Purchases a Carvin Bass head and Carvin 2x15 cabinet, to learn his Cronos and Steve Harris licks with. Proceeds to NC State University, meets Dennis Woolard(who later joins BUZZOV-en). They both quit college, move to mom & dads, attempt to start a band, NO LUCK! Friendship OVER!, Dennis joins the Army, again! Chirs moves to Atlanta, for his first time. Meets Ed & Steve Danyo, the over intelligent heavy metal dudes, who later became Kinetic Dissent. Doesnt make their cut, remained friends (but later, the main riff from, Banished sounded a lot like, Anger of the Lynch Mob). Back to NC, started writing. Loaded up the Honda Civic(rip), fueled by Iron Maiden, KILLERS and, off to Atl., for the second time. Moved to Brookhaven Apartments, to live with Danny Fain(the Snollygoster) in a One bedroom studio apartment. Meets Chris Baker, the hardcore dude with those crazy hair extensions, who wrote; Twilights last Gleaming, and Social Slut. Hooked up with Rob Clayton(rip), an incredible drummer who later died in a Van accident returning from a show. 4-tracked(cassette) Bakers two, and Caubles, Countdown to Holocaust. Recorded each did their own vocals, lying under the bed in the apartment. Next was Devin DenUyl, the rocker, from the David Lee Roth school of Rock, skater dude with the big KILLER drums. Added second guitarist, Joe Benton. Audition some dude, maybe Dave, a big Misfits fan, that passed out after drinkin too much and drew horns on his head with a sharpe. Rob Clayton then tells them, he has a friend named Rob, that loves to get up at partys and sing Misfit and Metallica songs. You should meet him. After meeting Rob Thompson, discovered he could also play guitar, canned Joe, and the Ghost Story began.....Recorded two KILLER demos, "The Seeds of Destruction" & "The Image and Reality" Not sure what really happened to cause them to break up. Without Cauble, Blistered was formed, which Baker, did a demo and quit. Rob and Devon continued and have one Cd, entitle, the greatest hits, and I believe Collete(robs bride), destroyed all pressings of that disc, but I have a copy. Which made way for the Cauble brothers to form, MONSTER who opened for, Morbid Angel, Godflesh, Entombed, Grip Inc., Testament, Overkill and toured the east coast.
Ghost Story, was such a good band, and truly one of my biggest influences to date. Thank You for the inspiration in my life! Andy Cauble
