Nathaniel M. Quinn was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1977. In 2000, he completed his undergraduate degree at Wabash College, graduating with his bachelor's degree in art and psychology. He earned his Masters of Fine Arts degree from New York University in 2002. He is the recipient of numerous awards and fellowships, and has been published in many newspaper articles and magazines. He is also a children's book illustrator, with three published children's books under his belt: "Suit Shoes" written by Quanica McClendon, and "Good Hands" and "The Sharing Secret" by LaShell Wooten. Quinn's work is exhibited throughout New York and Chicago. His work has been exhibited at the Bronx Museum of the Arts in New York, Wooster Arts Space in New York, The Museum of African American Studies in Chicago, Rush Arts Gallery in New York, and Steele Life Gallery in Chicago.
