My interestes - Oh gosh, I have so many. I love music, having been raised in a family with generations of musicians (none professionally, except my dad who was a bit of a lounge lizzard, ha!). I play guitar, harp, apalacian dulcimer, djembe, and I often play my "lap".
I love to express myself artistially. I love to crochet intricate doilies and have been working on a large tablecloth for over ten years (I wish I would finish it already). I scrapbooked all my favorite family photos in a historic album. I love to do folk art painting. I love roses and anything victorian.
Recently I took up a love for beading, which lead me to something called "lampwork" beads. I found them on E-bay and instantly fell in love with their unique styles and colors, and wondered if I could do that. So, I took a class, and you know what - I think I have found a niche. I have been having soooo much fun with making these little glass lovelies.
Look at my photos and you will see some of my creations.
See ya!
I'd like to meet other people interesting in lampworking or beading, anyone who loves God, who enjoys Christian Rock music, Harps, or any other nice people who just want to chat.
I have to say that my taste in music is so varied. However, my favorite non-Christian is Joni Mitchell. A few of my other favorite non-Christian music is from Crosby, Stills & Nash, Moody Blues, and, believe it or not, David Bowie.I have always loved a good rock beat and a screemin guitar, so I am so glad that Christians out there are really rockin'. There are so many awesome Christian groups that I now listen to, a few being Fly Leaf, Eowin, Day of Fire, and Thousand Foot Krutch.But... I also LOVE the softer stuff. Like my heart just melts when I listen to the CD "Streams" with songs from Cindy Morgan, Sixpence None the Richer, Burlap to Cashmere, Marie Brennan and 4Him, etc. AND, I love, love, love the "Enter the Worship Circle" CD's. Ohhh, man, the awesome rawness of the worship in these CD's grabs your brain and causes you to open up a direct line of communication with Him.And lately I have been running Kimberly and Alberto Rivera (Soaking Music) in my CD player 24/7. This music is so very annointed. It is an awesome facilitator in keeping your mind stayed on Jesus. It is heart changing, spirit filling and inspirational to me, musically.
Here is an awesome band I just found. Love 'em !
..
My most favorite ever movies are Shirley Temple movies. When I am not feeling good you will find me curled up on the sofa with my favorite "blankie" with a cup of java, watching a Shirley Temple movie.
I absolutely love the wit and humor of Mr. Bean. His facial expressions are too funny. He makes me laugh.
My two favorite channels are HGTV (home and garden TV) and AMC (American Movie Classics). I have learned so much from HGTV. I love the old classic movies. Some of my favorite actors in these classics are Fred Astaire, Rita Hayworth, Kathryne Hepburn, Audry Hepburn, Gene Kelly,
My favorite is The Hobbit series. I absolutely fell in love with those hairy footed little creatures and their adventures. I also enjoyed Barbara Taylor Bradford's series "Woman of substance". I read all three (I think there was only three). But the book I have read, pondered, and studied more any any other is the bible.
I am currently reading "The Shack" by William P. Young. Wow, what an awesome book. If you want to take God out of the box, this book will certainly help you do that. I highly recommend it. The only place I know that you can order it, at this point, is http://www.windblownmedia.com
