The Past

2007 is turning out to be an important year for Lincolnshire based band The Past, with their debut single now released. Called ‘Won’t Take No For An Answer’ it was recorded in late summer 2006 at London’s famous ‘Hear No Evil Studios’. The single was released on the bands’ own independent record label and will soon be available for download and in record stores.
The launch party was held during April this year at London’s famous Metro Club, on Oxford Street, which is fast becoming the place for unsigned bands to showcase their talent. Myspace is now playing an important part in building the band's fan base, The Past are feeling confident that, with their 18,000+ Myspace friends, the release of their single will be off to a good start. We will update you when it is available to download from the internet and appearing in the shops.
The band is planning an extensive tour to promote the single, and recruit as many fans as possible along the way with more gigs in London, major UK cities and universities due for later this year. A short European tour is also in the frame.
Each musician in The Past is a multi instrumentalist and can play guitar, keyboards and drums. They all met at college but it wasn’t until a few years later that they got together to form The Past. The main songwriters are Neil and James but with new songs written by all the members, the style is fast becoming very diverse and original, with a mixture of Rock, Funk, Blues and Jazz.
The band take influences from the legendary rock bands of the 70's and you won't see a band performing like this anywhere else today. They work hard and have already toured extensively to many major cities in the UK promoting their 2005 EP ‘Close Your Eyes’, but it’s now time to move on to bigger and better things with their new project.
