GODOT

About Me

"The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom." [William Blake] ----- Providing a place for rumination through sonic excess and unforgiving drone, GODOT treads the line between austere unlistenability and richly layered ambient polyphonic soundscapes. - - - - - - - Emotional depth and detailed thematic development are central to the GODOT sound, providing a sense of unity amidst an experimental and diverse body of work. Material ranges from the inexorably destructive to the sublime and blissful, but the sound is GODOT throughout. - - - - - - - Existential Literature also provides a basis for all material, with the work of Samuel Beckett, W.B. Yeats, William Blake and John Gray being of prime importance. Whether inspiration ('Waiting For Godot') or interpretation (Yeats' Gyre cycles), the music has a higher aim than mere soundwave production and manipulation. - - - - - - - - -Releases will be exclusively limited to EPs in pressings of 100. - - - - - - - -PURCHASE :: http://www.volcanictongue.com and Monorail (Glasgow, King's Court). - - - - - - - - "Being quiet and meditating on sound is something completely different and will be discovered very soon by a lot of people who feel that the visual world doesn't reach their soul anymore." [Karlheinz Stockhausen]
