I'd like to meet:

A Brother Needs Our Help...The Lascassas Church of Christ has many loving Christian members, and when one hurts, we all hurt with them. Keith Cochran, son of our Karen May and brother of our Melinda Tussey, was diagnosed with cancer a couple of years ago and underwent treatment that ... by the grace of God ... ultimately went into remission. However, for reasons that only our Lord knows, tests are now showing the cancer has returned, and Keith has been given very discouraging news regarding the prognosis.Along with prayer, The Cochran Family have been valiantly fighting the disease together, but his doctors are now adamant that an immediate bone marrow transplant will be necessary to help save his life. Members of his own family were hoping to be a good match for him, but sadly, that was not to be the case.In an effort to find a good match for Keith, the family humbly requests friends, other family members, neighbors, co-workers ... everyone who possibly can ... to please consider being checked as a bone marrow match. Because The Cochran Family are now racing against time, families who already had donor drives set up have been agreeing to let Keith 'piggy back' on their drive, with hopes of finding a match. Those volunteering will be asked to have a 'mouth swab' so the doctors can test to see if you are a good candidate for Keith (or possibly for the other patient).Last Saturday, August 26th, a family from Joelton allowed The Cochrans' friends & family to 'piggy back' on their bone marrow drive and a very good number of generous hearts attempted to help. Words can not express the gratitude Karen & Melinda feel toward these generous hearts & to those who are fervently praying on Keith's behalf.Monday, August 28th Update: Another family has allowed The Cochrans an opportunity to more quickly find a bone marrow match for Keith. A drive is set for this Friday, September 1st, from 8:00-4:00 at the Nashville Electric Company on Church Street. In the mean time The Cochrans are trying very hard to set up a drive here in the Murfreesboro/Lascassas area, but we will announce more about that if the opportunity is made available. We'll have detailed directions & what time our church van will be leaving for Nashville on this web site by Wednesday. If you need further information, feel free to call our Church Office (615-890-5096). If there is no answer, leave a message & we'll get back with you as soon as possible. Or get in touch with me Chris Salyers and I will help you help him.As Christians, we recognize God has His hand in every part of this situation, and we trust that He hears our prayers. In addition to being part of this donor drive, be sure to pray for Keith, his wife & 2 young daughters, and for Karen, Melinda & the rest of their family members. They need not only our prayers & bone marrow, but also our love & strength. On behalf of The Cochran Family, we thank you for your help. For those wanting additional information regarding the bone marrow donor program, go to www.marrow.org or visit Keith's Church website - http://lcoc2.thischurch.org/. This info was taken directly from the church's website - a special thanks goes to them for ALL their efforts.
