Add to My Profile | More Videos TV:616 Biotv:616 are a true Post-Modern Hard Rock band. Their debut C.D. Poison Blanket combines the relentless 4/4 drive of Electronica's raved up beats with crushing drop tuned guitar and barbed vocal hooks. "It's kind of like Chemical Brothers in a menage a tois with Nirvana and Ministry" adds drummer Brian Lehfeldt.tv:616 was formed out of the ashes of San Francisco's Grotus and Portland Oregon's Sweaty Nipples and Threscher. Their rock meets rave live shows (led by frontman vocalist Scott Watkins) caught the attention of local Indie label Elemental Records who put them in the studio along with sample/drumloop whiz Dave Merrick. The result is infectiousley catchy hard rock tunes laced with Hip Hop loops and a techno pulse. Poison Blanket parlays these aesthetics in grand fashion. Sickness and Now Your Gone (2 of many could be singles) contain bitter sweet chorus' and Dig is dark and sexy in a tug of war with Deftones like vocals and Faith No More's anthemic keyboards. The songs Poison Blanket and Deep Cut chug along with a Zombie-esque disco fashion and the track Frozen should turn on the Korn sect with it's mid tempo groove and scathing vocals. All in all Poison Blanket should appeal to new school fans of Static X, Orgy, NIN and Deftones as well as old school cult favorites like The Cure, Skinny Puppy and Bauhuas. Even organic alt rock purists will appreciate tv's raw pop sensibilities, something the band tirelessly worked on to separate themselves from all of the tuneless, over digitized industrial metal currently on the scene. " The machines work for us - not the other way around " states guitarist Keith Brown. Indeed tv:616's use of electronics serves to add to the band, not to fill gaps left by lack luster songwriting. See and hear for yourself on the debut C.D. from tv:616 - Poison Blanket on Elemental Records
