FLOYD Eric J. Eric Floyd, loving son, devoted brother and loyal friend, was called home early Tuesday evening, February 19, 2008. He was 30 years young. Eric was a 1996 graduate of St. John's Jesuit High School where he earned three varsity letters in basketball and helped lead his team to the state championship game in 1996. After graduating he went on to play for Owens Community College. He found great joy either playing basketball or watching his younger brothers play. His greatest joys were found, however, in the simple time he spent with family or friends. Whether it was Christmas morning breakfast, or a road trip to Columbus, he brought love, joy and his "nine-iron smile" to all he came across. Eric spent his final hours surrounded by his loving family and friends who will celebrate and honor his memory until they join him in His Holy Kingdom. Surviving Eric are his parents, Bob and Joanne; as well as his older brother, Bob Lang, and his two younger brothers, John and Michael Floyd. Also remembering Eric are his many aunts and uncles including Bob and Cindy Tobin of Flower Mound, TX; Jim and Wendy Floyd, Paul and Nancy Harshman, Jim and Barbara McGowan, Lynne Sexton and all of their children and grand-children and his loving "second families" the Clark's and the Kelly's. The family would like to offer their deepest thanks to the Neuro ICU medical staff at the University of Toledo Medical Center. Their talents and hard work were noticed and deeply appreciated by everyone at Eric's side. Visitation will be Friday, February 22, 2008 at Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Road from 2-8 p.m. where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 23, 2008, at St. John's Jesuit High School, 5901 Airport Highway, beginning at 11 a.m. Tributes in Eric's name may be made in lieu of flowers to St. John's Jesuit High School or to Race for Recovery
