I started playing drums when I was 14. My family moved to the Chicago suburbs shortly after. I was fortunate to study under Tony Casselli for a short period of time before continuing with his ace student Tom Tedrahn. I did the usual concert and marching band gigs in high school. I was playing in the club scene by the time I was 17. Played mostly in rock and top 40 variety bands.
In 1989 I moved back to Greensboro. In 1994 I joined Winston Salem based "TEMPER". We played all the local clubs, opening for then regionally successful "Still Rain" whenever they were in town and a few out of town gigs. We went into the studio and recorded a three song demo that was distributed mainly at our shows. In 1996 however inner turmoil broke the band apart. I soon through word of mouth and a recommendation by another musician I landed the drum role for "The Ardent Fools". Soon after joining the band we recorded our first full length CD with local studio owner and producer Steve Graham. The "Fools" played gigs all over NC, gaining a good following in the Asheville area. In the summer of 2000 the band parted ways and I played in a few other projects until taking a break in 2001. I got the bug again in 2005 and started playing again. I also started a custom drum co called Triad Drum Works. We do custom snares and sets in a variety of finishes and wraps. We also offer drum tech services either on a one time basis or long term. A few of our clients include: Mike Sivo-KISS ARMY(Kiss tribute band), Chistoph Ullmann-Blackfoot, and Jason Johnson-Lucky 13,Lia and The Wave. Currently I'm playing out with my new band OVRDRIVE . I've worked as a personal manager for some very talented artists as well.Last summer I had the pleasure of being a "gun for hire" with the Chapel Hill based group Sleepsound. I did a tour up the east coast in July with them as well as some local shows and their CD release party at Local 506 in Chapel Hill. If you haven't heard them you should check them out. I also played with Lisa Kyle for the past year playing the local club scene.
