Rapping is something you do and hip-hop is something you live; a culture and universe unlike any other.
I was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1981. I grew up on hip hop. The first tape that really influenced me was Dre's classic The Chronic when I was in fourth grade. I was a huge Pac fan as well, but New York is where my heart was at. Big L was my favorite but I was a die hard Mobb Deep, Wu Tang, Biggie, Nas, Gangstarr and MOP fan. I loved New York but was a fan of all good music and would never limit my tastes to one coast or one genre of music. In 1995 I started writing rhymes and freestyling for fun and its been habit ever since.
In 2001 I got in some trouble in Michigan and unexpectedly moved to Dallas, Tx. I appropriately named myself Exzile and started taking my music seriously. I learned the workings of the studio and started recording mix
tapes and doing shows with a local group called H.A.R.D.Co. (Hungry Artists Remain Determined).In 2005, I packed up and moved to the hip hop capital of the south, Houston Texas. I'm on my grind 24/7 and never miss an opportunity to promote myself or play my music. I am willing to work with anybody who appreciates good music and has the right work ethic. You only get out what you put in and I'm not holding anything back. Exzile music is a breath of fresh air in an overpolluted industry...its more than beats, bars and hooks. Its that feeling that washes over you when you hear something truly spiritual...Its a sense of understanding...Its a movement, not something you hear and forget but something you feel and live.
